He has given duo recitals with internationally renowned artists: Simon Standage, Hajo Bäss, Olivier Brault, Francis Colpron, Tormod Dalen, Heiko ter Scheggett, Marie Leonardt, Susie Napper, Grégoire Jeay, Max van Egmond, Charles Daniels, Nancy Argenta, Carolyn Watkinson, Lyne Fortin, Madeleine Jalbart, Suzie Leblanc, et Michel Ducharme. He was invited tour with Toronto' Tafelmusik Soloists, in the Canadian province of Ontario and in Montréal, Québec, and with Marie Leonhardt ensemble Mateus in Italy, Germany and the Netherlands.
Hendrik Bouman has performed in prestigious venues such as Amsterdam's Concertgebouw, London's Queen Elisabeth Hall and Wigmore Hall, Château Versailles, Venice’s San Marco, Montréal’s Place des Arts, Boston’s Jordon Hall and Lisbon’s Gulbenkian Hall.
As of 1993, Hendrik Bouman began composing in the musical languages for which he has a great affinity - those of the Baroque and Classical styles of the 17th and 18th centuries. To date he has composed one hundred and forty works for a variety of instrumental formations which he dedicates to his muse, his wife Anna.
Three-quarters of his compositions are world premiered in solo and duo recitals and with his ensembles Concerto Felice and Baroque SaMuse/The Baroque Muse, in Europe, Canada, India and South Africa. His works are also played in Norway and the United States and are broadcast on Fine Music FM, Australia, Radio Classique, Québec and are recorded, by Radio Canada / CBC Radio & TV, ATV, CTV, Canada and by Danish National Television, as well as on Hendrik Bouman’s 7 CDs for his label Arya.
Among the recordings (+50 re-editions) Hendrik Bouman has made for EMI, DGG-Archiv, REM/Radio Canada, and Arya, several have received prestigious awards: the Canadian Composers’ SOCAN Foundation CD Programme [Canada]; Early Music Award, Gramophone Award, BBC Recommended Repertoire, [United Kingdom]; Edison Prize [Netherlands]; Artist of the Year from the Deutsche Phono-Akademie, Career Prize for Young Artists from the Federal State of North-Rhine Westphalia and several Deutscher Schallplattenpreis, [Germany]; Le Grand Prix National du Disque, Le Grand Prix International du Disque, several Diapason d’Or, Répertoire Recommandé et Choc [France].

He is invited to give masterclasses in Europe, Monaco, Canada and India.

Hendrik Bouman, Dutch harpichordist, pianist and conductor is specialized in music of the 17th and 18th century, and is an avid improviser and prolific composer of music in the historical styles of the Baroque and Classical era.
Before completing his studies with Ton Koopman at the Amsterdam Conservatory, Hendrik Bouman began his career as the original harpsichordist of Musica Antiqua Köln (1976–83). Together with his colleagues, Hendrik Bouman contributed to setting new standards in the performance of Baroque music in concerts and recordings, initially in Europe and, under the patronage of the Goethe Institute, world-wide.
Hendrik Bouman, following a concert tour in India, chose in 1983 to leave Musica Antiqua Köln and to emigrate to Canada where he was invited to teach harpsichord and pianoforte at Laval University in Québec City and at Concordia University in Montréal. He embarked on a career of soloist/conductor with his period orchestra Les Nation de Montréal, and with Le Chœur de l’Atelier de l’Opéra de l’université Laval, Studio de Musique Ancienne
de Montréal, Portland Baroque Orchestra, USA and as founder/director of Concerto Felice, Haydn Heritage, Baroque SaMuse, and of the series Baroque Sa Muse, Québec and Baroque by the Sea, Canada & United Kingdom.
