Andrew Kerr has an extensive experience both on the violone and the bass viol, performing with several United Kingdom's baroque orchestras and ensembles, notably the Rose Consort of Viols, The Consort of Twelve and Musica Antiqua of London. He regularly joins Alison Crum in repertoire for three viols.

In Autumn 2009 Andrew Kerr joined Hendrik Bouman as violone player of The Baroque Muse in the premiere and recording of Hendrik Bouman’s Five Baroque Concertos in Sussex, United Kingdom, released in January 2011.

Andrew produces editions of 16th and 17th century music and his reconstructions of Byrd’s pavans and galliards have been published by Practicall Musicke Editions. He has played frequently on BBC Radio 3, and his CD recordings include "Wordplay" with Musica Antiqua, and the complete Consort Music of Henry Purcell and most recently "Four Gentlemen of the Chapel Royal" with the Rose Consort of Viols. He teaches the viol at Southampton University.
